1. Up-Pixar rarely fails (and when they do, it’s usually still better than the competition). This was a fun story with great characters. I felt like a kid watching this.
2. Inglorious Basterds-A Jewish Squadron of soldiers out to kill Nazis. Hard to argue with that. Tarantino manages to create a work that on the one hand, feeds the desire to see retribution, but on the other hand, criticize our enjoyment of said retribution. It’s clever, and draws the viewer in humor, drama and violence. Because what’s more fun than watching Eli Roth beating a Nazi to death with a baseball bat?
