Seriously. This makes my morning. David Fincher (one of my favorite modern directors) optioning the Goon (one of my favorite modern comics)? I don’t know if Fincher will also direct, he may be strictly acting as a producer…but his name being attached gives me hope. Apparently, it will be computer animated, which just might work for creating the right atmosphere for the film. Found via the Beat.
I had to see this. It had Kurtwood Smith in it. You either know Kurtwood from his turn as the awesomely low class crime lord Clarence Boddicker in Robocop or as moody dad Red Forman from That 70’s Show. Some geeks know him from Star Trek appearances. As soon as I saw he was in this, I knew I had to watch…because Kurtwood Smith is awesome. Imagine my disappointment when he turned out to only have about five minutes of nearly dialog free screen time. He spent most of his time following Richard Crenna around.
