Man alive…Hilary slipped ahead, but only by a couple points (she did not get the cushy lead Obama had back in Iowa). I thought people were terribly unfair about the “Hilary Cries” thing.  It’s not like she was sobbing hysterically.  She teared up a bit.  Who cares?  Giuliani has teared up.  George Bush has teared up.  Mitt Romney has teared up.  And their supporters argue that it proves they are human, and that we critics of those people are just haters.   And yet, they don’t extend the same generosity to Hilary.   Frankly, I am certain it is a combination of the knee-jerk Clinton Haters and the unfair expectation we have on women to simultaneously be naturally emotional-but not show certain emotions.  Screw you John Edwards.  I don’t care if you have never cried during a campaign.  I don’t need a delusional robot who talks claptrap about two Americas, who is on the wrong side of that divide pretending he is not. To quote Red Foreman, “Dumbass.”  It’s great to see things so close now, I kind of hope Obama takes the next couple locations…I like seeing a race

On the Republican side.  McCain was the clear winner here, and that would be fine by me if he was the nominee in the end…and Huckabee was slaughtered! Which means Giuliani was beaten within an inch of his life.  Holy crap.   Interestingly, Tom Delay said that New Hampshire was the last hurrah (so to speak) for the moderate candidates.  When he was asked why he seemed to bristle when he said “moderates” he kind of laughed and explained that moderates were people who “think about things”.  This man was regularly voted into office, and he considers it a criticism that moderates “think about things”…I guess he prefers blindly following ideology.  Sure am glad he got the boot.

Yeah. This is the best political commentary I have right now.

No, not like the comic book kids from yesterday…rather a hysterically bad exploitation horror flick from 1981.  It’s main claim to fame is that stars Jason Alexander and Holly Hunter…but it should also be recognized that one of the writers is Harvey Weinstein.  Oh, and a few other actors who went on to some minimal fame are Fischer Stevens (who plays a character named Woodstock), Brian Backer (who went on to Fast Times At Ridgemont High and an episode of Charles In Charge), Leah Ayres (who looked familiar…but it was only after looking her up at imdb did I see why-she was pretty much on every television show in the eighties from Love Boat to Crazy Like a Fox), Ned Eisenburg (who has a pretty solid career) and that covers it.  BURN BABY BURN!Most of the rest of the cast had their careers end with the Burning.  The music is by Rick Wakeman (Uh huh…the guy from Yes).  It was edited by Jack Sholder who went on to direct movies such as Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge, Alone in the Dark (the one with Donald Pleasence, not the one with Christian Slater), the Hidden and the Keifer Sutherland/Lou Diamond Phillips classic Renegades.

The one other most notable fact is that the amazingly skilled Tom Savini provided the effects.  The effects in the film are unquestionably well done, even by today’s standards.  Yes, you can tell it’s rubber and prosthetics, but it still looks good.  Yes, I think Tom Savini is a genius, and the one time I met him?  Thought he seemed like a real nice guy. If I had known about his school when I graduated High School?  I’d have gone there.

Anyways, back to the movie.  Spoilers follow…
