I am not sure what I make of this.
“We’ve long suspected that cannabis is linked to psychoses, but we have
never before had scans to show how the mechanism works,” said Dr. Philip
McGuire, a professor of psychiatry at King’s College, London.
In analyzing MRI scans of the study’s subjects, McGuire and his colleagues
found that THC interfered with activity in the inferior frontal cortex, a
region of the brain associated with paranoia.
“THC is switching off that regulator,” McGuire said, effectively unleashing
the paranoia usually kept under control by the frontal cortex.

I don’t think he’s saying that cannabis makes people psychotic, just that it exacerbates a symptom/effect associated with psychosis.

:O
It seems like a rly tiny sample space tho
I dunno :O But since I’ve worked in medical research, I know that often “results” are very preliminary and they need further tests and stuff, but on something like this, the media loves to eat it up regardless of what details there might be

Yeah, I suspect that some will use this as “undisputible proof.” I have never smokes the stuff myself, though many opportunities have occurred(for some reason, my friends never felt like I had to smoke pot with them to be “cool”). So, I have no personal stake, as I would be unlikely to smoke it even if it was legal. I’ve just never been opposed to the legalization, because I think weed is closer to alcohol than, say, crack.
